BBC @ the WOL Superbowl in Rochester NY
•November 6, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis is a slideshow of some of the pictures I got from the WOL Superbowl in Rochester NY. We took 26 BBC students there to help out and it was so much fun! One Down, two to go! I will try to compile slideshows of the other two and put them on here as well.
Eliot Mooney
•October 31, 2007 • Leave a CommentHey! I found this video on someone’s wall on facebook and it blew me away. The strength of this family and the testimony that they are to so many people. Wow. I hope you will look at it and see the grace of God. Lord Bless.
Dr. De Young’s Run-through of Revelation
•September 17, 2007 • 2 CommentsDr. De Young is another teacher that we had, he taught the book of Revelation over a two week period, and over that period he did this run-through of the whole book of Revelation (NOT Revelationsssssssssssss…), and if we went up and did it he gave us bonus marks!!!
If you did the run-through, write a note on my page!!!
Here’s the video:
Tom Taylor @ WOL Canada
•September 17, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis was seriously ONE OF the best teachers we had at WOL. He taught us church history, and to make that an exciting subject, for me anyways, is not an easy thing to accomplish, but Dr. Taylor did it over leaps and bounds. He was amazing, and this is one, of many, of his tangents.
The Infamous WOL Synchronised Swim Team
•September 17, 2007 • 1 CommentThis was another event that took place in the lovely student lounge of WOL. The WOL Swim Team does a wonderful arrangement that… in all honesty… gets a little out of hand…
Your Grace – WOL Travel Team
•September 17, 2007 • Leave a CommentSo one day while at the BI, Troy and friends decided to invite a bunch of college seekers out to the school to check it out. Being as creative as he is, he called it… “Campus Days,” and a bunch of kids came out. Then, the Travel Team from WOL had the privilege to sing for all of them in the amazingness of a lounge. Here is the first verse of “their” song.
This is the second part, it misses the verse, but it gets everything else.
Word of Life Pictures
•September 15, 2007 • Leave a CommentHere is a slide show of a bunch of pictures from Word of Life. I attended there from fall of ‘04 to summer of ‘05. It was an awesome year, and I really miss my WOL days, so this is just to bring back my sweet memories.
(HINT: I know that I made this slideshow fast, but if you put your mouse on the picture, it will stop the slideshow so you can look at the picture longer.)
Impact Team Asia Pictures
•September 14, 2007 • 1 CommentRandom Dorm Movie
•September 9, 2007 • Leave a CommentOk, so we made this video because we were actually making fun of some girls who made some videos. We took three of theirs and made one, all inclusive video. It is really funny, but if you didn’t know what we were actually doing, you might think of us as very weird people. Maybe you still do, but whatever.
Internship At People’s Church
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis summer has been a really awesome experience for me, I had a really amazing chance to do an internship at People’s Church in the small town of Wyoming, Ontario. I really love the church, love the people there and love the ministry. Some of the things that I did as far as responsibilities go is I sub-taught for the College and Career group, worked with the Youth Group, went on Visitation, and my main responsibility was to organize the Children’s Summer Sunday School program. As you would come to find out as you get to know me, I love kids ministry and that is where my passion lies. This summers program was a continuation of last years program, called Character Camp and we taught the Word of God and how it teaches different characteristics that we should implement into our lives, like diligence in our faith, and astounding joy, responsibility and initiative.
I have learned so much from my internship and to be honest, I really did not want to leave, But I know that God is calling me to finish school and then to head off to the mission field. It has been a great summer, and I am going to be able to use what I’ve learned for the rest of my life. I guess to just share a couple of things that I have learned, one is leadership, and not only in one area, but in many. I learned leadership from how a church should run, to how to organize a small program and how to get people involved. I learned what it looks like and how it shouldn’t look. I also increased my understanding on how to teach, preach, and have an effective impact on those around me. I learned how to read the Bible, and how not to read it (may be hard to explain… but I’ll try in a few words – when you are reading scripture, don’t read it with something else in mind, read it for what it says… for example, some people who believe in evolution will try to read evolution into the Genesis account, but if you read the Genesis account for what it says and check evolution through that, you’ll come to see that evolution just does not work. Instead of messing up your theology because you think something else is right, your theology will show you that other things are wrong. Now, I saw something else, but this was a simple example). And there are a ton of other things that I have learned too, I love it here and it was a phenomonal summer.
Flower Pot Rocks
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentOn the Impact Team we went to Hopewell Rocks, AKA: Flower Pot Rocks, and this video happened when we were trying to leave! It was not really an issue going down, it was trying to leave that proved to be a little more difficult.
And just so that you all know, Moose DID actually get up the wall, in fact, I am pretty sure he is now an ACTUAL Marine… you may have heard me make a smart comment about that in one of the videos.
Peggy’s Cove
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentAnother place we went to on our Maritime Tour was Peggy’s Cove in NS. Matt and Matt were having a little argument while we were there and so this video is of them resolving their conflict. Moose ended it pretty quick, and in less than a few seconds Jolley was on the ground and out… Until he came back and smoked Moose right in the face! (that part is not on camera, partly because none of it actually happened).
The Boy Band At The Bay
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentYEAH! So we were at Flower Pot Rocks, AKA: Hopewell Rocks, and while taking a video of the cliffs and other stuff, the conversation somehow leads to the fact that one of our team members thought we were a Boy Band… Needless to say, he never left the Bay of Funday, and I am pretty sure that 2 years later he is still there. Oh well, at least I can visit him whenever I go home to NB!
Halifax Harbour #1&2
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentOn our Maritime Tour we went to Halifax and took a trip down to the Harbour. These are a couple of videos of us there just having a good breath of fresh air.
Moncton Hockey Game
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis is the video that shows all the people that we sang in front of when we sang the National Anthems at the Moncton Hockey Game. It also has Paul AND Brock saying “hi” to Brock’s wife, (although at that time she was his wife to be).
You and I Can Conquer the World
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentOne of the guys that Moose and the rest of us went to school with got married! Imagin that… And so we were at the wedding and what you had to do to get the bride and groom to kiss was sing a song. That is pretty much the end of the story, Matt, being the guy that he is and loving to sing found it no challenge to get up there and make them kiss… more than once…
Shut de Door
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentWell, one of the places we went on the Impact Team was to the Word of Life Bible Institute in New York to their Missions Conference. We sang a couple of songs in their meetings, but this one we sang in the dining hall.
A Whole New World
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis was also taken at our friends wedding (Charlie and Lindsey Lyons). We had to sing to get the couple to kiss, so Moose made it up to the stage on more than one occasion, and Tim Chambers is just joining in on all the fun this time.
The King
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis was a really cool song, hard to learn, and really hard to get right when you are only singing it in front of people once at a time, but a sweet song nonetheless.
Lord Of The Harvest
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentThis is one of the 16 songs the Canadian Impact Team of 2005-2006 sang.
Idios ~ A Life Without Truth
•August 16, 2007 • Leave a CommentThe main theme that we traveled with on the Impact Team was ”Idios – A Life Without Truth.” Basically, people all over the world will tell you that there is no such thing as truth, when in all honesty, there definately is such thing as absolute truth, and if you tried to live without it, you would be hurting very badly. It is the same with the Bible - the Word of God - it is absolutely true, and if you believe in it’s message, then “the Truth shall set you free.” (John 8:32).
SMT Slideshow
•August 15, 2007 • Leave a CommentAfter being on the Impact Team I worked with the SMT (Summer Ministry Teens) at Word of Life Summer Camp. It was an awesome summer and I saw a lot of growth in the SMT. At the end of the summer I made a slideshow for our Banquet and here it is!
Our Maritime Slideshow
•August 15, 2007 • Leave a CommentWell, to make things a little simpler, we’ve made this slide show of our Maritime Tour, and you’ll just have to watch it to see where we have been!
The Mighty Men of the Impact Team
•August 15, 2007 • Leave a CommentAll right! The first video has arrived, and more are soon to follow! In this first video our friend Alex was behind the camera and took this video of us trying to move a tree so that we could climb to the top of one of the supports underneath the Prince Edward Island Bridge. When we dropped the “tree,” Matt Bussen got sand all down his shirt, that is the hilarious part! Enjoy!
AND…… This video actually has a couple other parts that I am going to now add (because I just got them downloaded) and so here they are!
Phone Prank
•August 15, 2007 • 1 CommentOK, so this is one of my favorite videos. We were all in the Impact house, and we were in there for way too long, that is all I have to say! I pretended that the phone rang and gave it to Moose, (AKA: Matt Bussen). He LOVED it! I actually did it to a couple of other guys too, but this is the only one I got on video.
Singing The National Anthems
•August 15, 2007 • Leave a CommentWell, considering that we (The Impact Team) were a singing team, I thought that it might be good to put a video on here that actually has us singing in it! In this video we are at a hockey game in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. We sang both the Canadian and American National Anthems in front of over 7,000 people, by far the biggest crowd all year! It was Awesome!!!
Canatara Park
•August 14, 2007 • Leave a Comment
So, being my first blog, I actually just wanted to try this and see what happens. But a few weeks ago, the youth group at the church went to Canatara Park in Sarnia, Ontario, and we played a backward scavenger hunt. What we did was took pictures all over the park and we gave them to the teens and they had to find the spot that picture was taken and answer the question. So, here are a couple of pictures that I took.
